Teddy was safely tucked in for a nap when they Disapparated in front of Prince Hall. The front door opened as they reached the top step.

"Master Severus! You is here!" An elf, neatly dressed in a pillow slip embroidered with the Prince arms, clapped her hands together in delight. "Mistress is in the library! I is getting her!"

They waited as the elf disappeared. Portraits, both moving and still, filled the entry way. Remus peered at one that seemed vaguely familiar.

"Grover Cleveland?" he asked.

"One of Gran's uncles was the Wizarding attache to his adminstration," said Severus.

The wild farmlands of Washington state there exists a small town. On the outskirts is a road that winds up and around a hill. I live on the backside of the top of the hill. Our hill has three bridges out of town, all of which have been closed due to flooding within the past 4 years. The dairy farm at the start of our road has a huge pasture that floods yearly, and we affectionately call it "Loch Cherry Valley." What do you expect? We're Scottish.

Currently unemployed after 15 solid years of employment (Washington state and Microsoft). It’s being really scary and strange and I am not really sure how well I am actually dealing with it as I keep staying up really late for me to make lists of things I need to get done. Trying hard to beat my resume into shape and actually put what I’d been doing into words that will make sense to others. It’s hard.

The Job, or loss thereof. As I said earlier, this is the first time I’ve been jobless in 15 years. It’s scary. Really really scary.
Grandma G’s 100 birthday celebration My grandmother turns 100 in a couple of weeks. The Spouse and I will be traveling down to California to go to the party, because really, how often does one get to help to celebrate something like that?
Sewing. With the being laid off for the time being, I’ve been doing a lot of sewing, something I really enjoy and haven’t had the time or energy to do. I made a quilt for the GrandSpawn and now I’m working on re-doing Youngest Spawn’s quilt, which is falling apart. It’s been soothing and that is something I really need right now in my world.
The Kids, and how they're doing. Eldest Spawn is looking at going back to school for which I am very very proud. School was something she really looked forward to as a small child, but that joy was destroyed by bad teachers and worse schools. I hope that college agrees better with her. Middle Spawn being pregnant and on the other side of the state is worrying. I know she’s an adult but I wish we were closer during this time. SiL is working and putting up with Middle Spawn and the joys of pregnancy. He’s a good guy and I’m happy to have him as a son. Youngest Spawn returned to school and is doing well. She changed schools and I think it was a good change for her.

Both deceased. It’s been a year and half for mom, 12+ years for dad. Yesterday would have been mom’s birthday, so I’m been a bit distracted as a result.

The Spouse is my best friend, though we don’t talk as much as we used to. Something about living together for 27 (almost 28) years I think ::grin:: He is the Gred to my Forge.
Sj is my soul sib and my best friend I don’t live with. We do lunch and gossip about work and plan grand meals together. My life would be much poorer without him and Bj in my (our) life.
L, who I’ve fallen badly off the friend wagon with. He’s been a part of my life longer than Sj, shorter than The Spouse and I miss the closeness we once shared.
GB was a co-worker, is a friend and someone I really miss chatting with on a daily basis.

As Eldest Spawn said so eloquently, I do not make friends casually or easily, so even if I don’t stay in touch (which I am prone to do) it doesn’t mean that I don’t love you or miss you. It just means that I fail in the ‘stay in contact’ side of friendships.

I am looking for a fic were during a fancy dinner with severus harry is caught looking at another woman. It turns out that Harry was just wishing that Severus was pregnant again like the woman is. Severus had a lot of their kids, and they had decided not to have anymore I think. I am pretty sure it was short.

You have a large and captivating presence that draws people into your orbit. I love seeing your posts, whether they're fic or a rant or a story about your cats or just what you did that day. WOW! Another, at least started before midnight. I'm on a roll here.

My Mini_Fest fic is offically in the hands of my wonderful Beta, Missy. YAY! I had to start over, but luckily could use my first attempt as "notes".

I have learned I have no discipline what so ever. Even on a deadline, I was procrastinating right up to the end. I still want to try for the Snarry-A-Thon, but I have the feeling that I should pretty much stick to writing things that excite me, and on my own time. I'm just too much of a procrastinator to be a good fest participant. I'm sure Mods around the world would hate me. :)

My bird is taking it's bath. (Another YAY! This one from Jeff, though) Instead of veggi stock, I used 5 C each of pineapple and orange juice. I forgot that turkeys float. Normally I'd have a convient handle to attach a spoon to to keep him under, but not this year. So, we are trying a pie plate to see how that works. I'm not too overly woried. I'll be fliping him over once a day until Thursday, anyway, so it's not like that one edge will miss out. I also love how this cooler fits in the fridge. I alway worry that the glass shelf will bust on me, under the weight of the metal pot, brine and bird. This cooler fits perfectly where the shelf and drawers would normally go, so no breakage worries for me. I may have to use this cooler from now on, even if I have a smaller bird.

For a few months now, I've been having weird eppisodes. My tummy gets tight, my heart beat picks up, and sometimes my breathing gets faster as well. I didn't think it was contractions, at first, because it just didn't hurt like I'd remembered. I'm not so sure now. They may just be Bracston (sp?) Hicks, but as I have never had them, I am unsure. I do have a history of pre-term labor, so that is one of the reasons I'm unsure now. They are no where near regulated, and the most I have had in one entire day was 4 or 5. So, I'm not worried that I need to go get monitored. But that plane trip is a little more scary now. Stress was a factor in my last case of pre-term labor, (Jeff was leaving the next week for Boot camp), and flying is always stressful, no matter how much you try and make it simple. I do beleive I shall be asking if there is anything I can do, or take (that will be of no harm to baby) to help me stay calm. That reminds me, I really need to start that list of questions for the doctor. I keep forgetting.

I realised something horrible today. I have not read Snarry in a week. (I am not counting drabbles.) I just haven't felt like looking for anything to read. I am thinking this might need to become one of my depression tells, it's just not normal...well, for me at least. :)
